Great Meadows Foundation announces 2019 Critic-in-Residence

March 29, 2024Great Meadows Foundation is pleased to announce the award of 17 grants to artists in the Kentucky region through the 9th round of the Artist Professional Development Grants program. These grants will enable recipients to travel to visit major exhibitions, conferences, and artist residencies, and connect with other professionals in the field whose expertise can help them develop their critical practice.
Grantees in this cycle are: Becky Alley, Lexington; Matthew and Mitchell Bradley, Louisville; John Brooks, Louisville; Andrew Cozzens, Louisville; Susanna Crum and Rodolfo Salgado, Louisville; Crystal Gregory, Lexington; Kristen Davis, New Albany; Shayne Hull, Louisville; Joel McDonald, Louisville; Michael Nichols, Bowling Green; Whitney Olsen, La Grange; Lee Ann Painter, Danville; Brandon Smith, Lexington; Skylar Smith, Louisville; Todd Smith, Louisville; James Southard, Lexington; James Wade, Lexington.
Grants are awarded on the recommendation of an external reviewer, a professional in the field from outside the region. The total amount awarded this cycle is $49,000.-, with individual grants ranging between $600.- and $4,800.-. Grantee artists will be enabled to travel to Ashville NC, Birmingham AL, Chicago IL, Cleveland OH, Los Angeles CA, New York NY, Pittsburgh PA, as well as to Belgium, Canada, England, Germany, Holland, Ireland, Italy, Norway, South Korea, and Taiwan in pursuit of their proposals.
